I am the poet of the Body and I am the poet of the Soul, The pleasures of heaven are with me and the pains of hell are with me, The first I graft and increase upon myself, the latter I translate into a new tongue.
This poem is very short and to the point but i like it. It has a specific abab rhyme scheme and talks about the privelege of freedom and definitely has to do with patriotism.
ReplyDeletewhen u look down at the impressionistic meaning of this poem. it says when there is freedom there is liberty and when freedom is quenched then surely oppression is opened. so one cannot exist unless the other is gone. this short reminder just reminds us about america n the liberties we take for granted
